New Works to the David Herring Music Catalog
This page features some of the new works that will be ready to purchase in the near future.
Written as a march, imagine off in the distance columns of soldiers, gods, demigods, or whatever else could coming down the dusty road. (for us it involved Deranged Pandas and Were-emus and other denizens of the band hall - that being said the piece is decidedly serious in nature) You see them in the distance approaching, sometimes losing sight of them behind hills but come ever closer. At the gates of the city a brief fanfare announces their arrival as they march triumphantly into the city. Just as quickly, however, they march through disappearing on the horizon.
A grade 3 novelty piece that introduce syncopated and 6/8 rhythms in an off kiltered way.
Starting from the opening chant in the band to the beautiful 6/8 chorale in the middle and rousing finale. (Also affords ample opportunities for soloists throughout your band)

A good Introduction to 6/8, this march starts with a short trumpet fanfare in the key of Ab and goes to Db at the end.
Path to Glory

Based on the mathmetical concept of Pi, the melody is derived from that sequence as used on a scale. Piece also has a short around the circle of 5ths and the middle section is of course in a round. Quirky little piece that your kids are sure to enjoy.
Pi

Another one of the dezien's of the band hall series. The piece opens depicting a quiet peaceful scene of bamboo shoots and Pandas. After a foreshadowing of the horror that is to come the deranged panda bursts onto the scene. A chase ensues as you try to get away, but time and time again the Panda finds you.
