Clayton Harris is currently in his fifth year at Redwater ISD, and the fourth year as Director of Bands, and assists with the middle school and junior high bands. Previous to coming to Redwater, Clayton taught at Hooks, TX during the 2005-2006 school year. Prior to band directing, Clayton maintained a private lesson studio of 50+ students in Plano ISD and in Southlake ISD, both in the Dallas area, while working towards his Doctorate of Musical Arts at the University of North Texas. Clayton has also served as faculty at Ouachita Baptist University, University of North Texas, University of Missouri - Kansas City Conservatory of Music, and at the Kansas City Kansas Community College. Clayton Harris is an active performer on trumpet, presently holding the principle chair with the Texarkana Symphony Orchestra, and previously performing with the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra, UNT Symphony Orchestra, South Arkansas Symphony Orchestra, Arkansas Repertory Theatre, Music Theatre of Dallas, Dallas Opera, the UNT 5 O'clock Lab Band, Wayne Newton, the Madison Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps, the Little Rock Wind Symphony, and has appeared in two movies, Soldiers of Change and The Hunting of Mr. President. Clayton has appeared as a guest artist with the Little Rock Wind Symphony and the Texarkana Symphony Orchestra.
Clayton Harris holds degrees from Henderson State University and the University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory of Music. While at Henderson State University, Clayton was a member of Kappa Kappa Psi and Phi Mu Alpha.
Clayton resides in New Boston with his wife Misty, and their three children, Madison, Mason, and Maebry.
